Bruce “China Baby” Hutto, age 66, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away while on vacation in Panama City, Florida on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, July 29, 2022, 2 p.m. with Reverend Donnie Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Hutto, son of the late Loyd Clinton Hutto and Carolyn Elizabeth Cooper Hutto, was born July 16, 1956 in Barbour County, Alabama. He was a self-employed painter and active member of Church on the Rock, Phenix City, Alabama. Mr. Hutto was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Fan. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, NASCAR, and watching all ESPN sporting events. Mr. Hutto would often be seen by family and friends at the beach or in his back yard relaxing in the pool. The family remembers him as a loving Christian man who loved his family immensely.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Elaine Wester; and two brothers, Clinton O’Neill Hutto and Kenneth Jerome Hutto. Mr. Hutto is survived by his wife of 47 years, Billie Jean Hutto of Phenix City; one daughter, Nikki Storey of Phenix City; one son, Bruce Hutto and his wife Hollie of Smiths Station, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Ashlynn Storey, Launa Storey, Allison Storey, Kayla Storey, Kyndall Storey, Ansley Hutto, and Grayson Hutto; many other relatives and friends.
