Bucky William Edwards, 48, of Salem, AL, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Skip Speed officiating, according to Vance Memorial Chapel. Private interment will follow at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Eastern at the funeral home.
Bucky was born March 4, 1967 in Columbus, GA son of Irene Phillips Edwards and the late William Glenn Edwards. He graduated from Auburn University with a a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bucky worked as an Engineer for Lummus, Briggs & Stratton and most recently Kysor Warren. Bucky enjoyed being on the chain crew for Smith Station High School football games. Bucky was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he was also a deacon, Sunday school teacher and a member of the church orchestra. Bucky enjoyed BBQ’ing, hunting, the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Other than his mother, Bucky is survived by his loving wife, June Edwards; two children, Tristan Edwards and Abby Edwards; sister, Tammy Gibson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family and a host of caring friends. Thank you to all those that reached out and helped over the past several months and a special thank you to the nurses on 6 East at Midtown Medical Center.
