Calvin W. Riley, Jr, 79, of Phenix City, AL died at Columbus Hospice House Wednesday, February 05, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, February 10, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jonathan Pike officiating from Woodland Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM till the service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Riley was born February 26, 1940 in Clopton, AL son of the late Calvin W. Riley, Sr. and Ella Foy Cook Riley. He owned and operated Valley Plumbing for 50 years. Mr. Riley found great joy in restoring Ford Tractors and collecting knives. He was a man who said what he meant and meant what he said, expecting those around him to be the same. Mr. Riley was a devoted family man who loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a Christian he found joy in serving others while awaiting Christ’s call for him to come home. His memories will continue to impact our lives and the lives of others because of his commitment to Christ and others.
Mr. Riley was also preceded in death by a beloved son, Brian Todd Riley and a brother, John Riley.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Hightower Riley, Phenix City, AL; two children, Donna Henry (Ronald) and Jerry Riley(Michele) all of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Patricia Jones; three brothers, Don Riley, Bobby Riley and Wayne Riley; four grandchildren, Amanda Browder (David), Kyle Henry (Jessica), Ashley Wyrosdick (Austin), and Adam Lopretto (Shelbi); four great-grandchildren, Eli, Waylon, Eva and Stevie; numerous other close relatives and friends also survive.
