Carl Watford, 90, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away Friday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST, on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Tim Callaway officiating. Interment will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Watford was born in Graceville, FL, the son of the late Samuel B. Watford and Willie Maude Taylor Watford. He was a Barber for 58 and a half years, having worked for Metcalf Barber Shop until opening Watford’s Barber Shop and was the Proprietor for Watford’s Service and Supply. Mr. Watford proudly served during WWII in the US Navy. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing and holidays with his family and friends. He also enjoyed conversation with friends and customers at the Barber Shop and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Eunice Lois Watford, son, Vaughn Watford, brother Ralph Watford and sisters, Ann Avary and Pearl Posey.
He is survived by three children, Gail Parker, husband Bill of Smiths Station, AL, Faye Hudson of Crawford, AL and Brandi Watford Harden of Phenix City, AL; two siblings, Paul Watford, wife JoAn of Columbus, GA and Nell Cason of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Damon Sanders, wife Darlene of Columbus, GA, Tim Hudson, wife Julie of Crawford, AL, Julie Allison of Columbus, GA, Kim Rodgers, husband Jamey of Salem, AL and Camryn Harden of Phenix City, AL; great grandchildren, Jackson Allison, Hayes Allison, Isabella Allison, Braden Sanders, Brandon Hudson, Alexandria Hudson, Audrey Rodgers and Ashley Rodgers; more extended family members and many caring friends.
