Carol Jean Edwards, 78, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, April 7, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EDT Monday, April 11, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Sherry Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.
Mrs. Edwards was born May 25, 1937 in Pablo, MT to the late Percy W. Armstrong and Louise Hermine Carstens Armstrong. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who deeply loved her family. She got a thrill out of watching her favorite TV Show, Wheel of Fortune, and enjoyed listening to Gospel music. She was a Pentecostal by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant brothers, also brother, Keith Armstrong, and a sister, Nettie Folden.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John Henry Edwards of Phenix City, AL, daughter, Charleen Paul of Phenix City, AL, son, Charles Edwards and wife Lenita of Smiths Station, AL, brother, Arnold Armstrong and wife Pat of Ronan, MT, two grandchildren, David Paul (Lacie), and KeLeigh Edwards, three great grandchildren, Lana Paul, Lilly Paul, and Leah Paul, numerous other extended family members, and many caring friends.
