Caroline Swanger Reed, 77, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord at the home of her daughter, on Thursday, October 29, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM EST, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, in the chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL with Sister Francis Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Reed was born in Sergeant, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Andrew Swanger and Letha Ira Steele Swanger. She later moved to Phenix City, AL and began a career in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Ms. Caroline truly enjoyed her occupation of sitting with the elderly and gave it her all. Another passion of Ms. Reed’s was playing the organ. She was a faithful member of Faith Temple Assembly of God and she will be missed by her church family.
In addition to Ms. Reed’s parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are five daughters, Tonie Herman and her husband Tim of Biloxi, MS, Judy Smith of Smiths Station, AL, Brenda Arseneau of Blountsville, AL, Kimberly Green of Phenix City, AL and Sharon Clayburger and her husband Danny of Columbus, GA; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to say a heartfelt “Thank You” for all the calls, visits and most importantly the prayers from their friends and family.
