Carolyn Ruth Barnes, 81, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017, after a long bout of heart-disease. She lived most of her adult life in Columbus, but most recently was living in Port Orange, Florida. Graveside services will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony R. Dickerson officiating. Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Laura Siebert and Sheldon Clayworth and her daughter, Cheryl Barnes. She is survived by her children, Bob and Nancy Barnes, Ric and Cindy Pasi, Ralph Barnes and Darryn Chandler, Cathy and Forrest Vail, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was a retired federal civil servant. After retirement, she served her church, Pinehurst Baptist, as a secretary.
Carolyn's faith was unshakable as she knew "in whom she believed." She is resting comfortably and at total peace.
