Catherine Louella Nevels

Catherine Louella “Wells” Nevels, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Father Tom Weise officiating.  A private interment will follow at 11:00 am on Monday at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends (today) Saturday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm EST with a Catholic Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm EST at the Vance Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Nevels was born February 21, 1932 in Phenix City, AL to the late Angus Wells and Catherine Bagley Wells.  She was a member of Virgin Mary Solidarity at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and enjoyed bird watching, flower gardening, playing games, and loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vincent Wells, and James Wells, sister, Patricia Wells, and three grandsons, Tony Best, James Nevels, Jr., and Brent Nevels.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willie “WC” “Billy” C. Nevels of Phenix City, AL, children, Deborah Alligood of Phenix City, AL, Bill Nevels and wife Sandra of Smiths Station, AL, Wayne Nevels and wife Dean of Salem, AL, Jimmy Nevels of Phenix City, AL, and Catherine Boswell and husband Dennis of Phenix City, AL, sister-in-law, Barbara Wells of Houston, TX; (8) grandchildren, (16) great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
