Catherine P. “Phelps” Carden

Catherine P. Carden, 92, formerly of Columbus, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at her residence in Savannah, GA.

Catherine was born on July 4, 1928 in Banks, AL to the late Robert Elmer Phelps and Sarah McClendon Phelps. During the many years she lived in Columbus, Catherine faithfully attended Edgewood Church of Christ where she enjoyed the friendship of many. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family whom she loved greatly. Catherine will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend who left her fingerprint on the lives of all who knew her.

Other than her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Carden. She is survived by her daughters, Rita Papadopoulos, Janice Lingo and Joan Moore; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several other loving family members.
