Dane Little

Cecelia Dane Little, 81, of Ft. Mitchell, AL died at her home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, February 03, 2024 in Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. 

Dane, as she was known by friends, was born July 26, 1942 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Edwin Proctor, Sr. and Ruby Barton Jannetty. She had worked in various jobs outside of the home, but her main role was a homemaker. This was her favorite thing because she could cook and spoil her grandchildren. Ms. Dane was well known for her biscuits, tomato gravy and dressing. She also had a green thumb. Almost anything she planted thrived and was beautiful. Ms. Dane also was an accomplished painter and home interior decorator. She often shared the gift of her paintings with family and friends. We will remember her as being straight forward, honest, generous and loving. Traits that will continue to impact us and our family for generations. 

Ms. Little was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Proctor, Sr.  and Ruby Jannetty; a sister, Pat Geier and a brother, Edwin Proctor, Jr.

Survivors include her three children, Ray Davis (Susan Carle), Seale, AL, Laura Foster, Phenix City, AL and Stephen Little (Kaye Lettles), Seale, AL; one sister, Diane Bristow and two brothers, Eugene Proctor (Mary Jane, who was also her best friend) and Marty Jannetty; seven grandchildren, Cory Foster (Jennifer), Amanda Meade (Christopher), Matthew Davis (Daniela), Ashley King (Fabbian), Dylan Davis, Joshua Davis and Joseph Davis; four precious great-grandchildren, Mckenzie, Lily, Mathias “Matty” and Oakland; several nieces, nephews and friends.
