Following a life well-lived, Charlene Senn Jones, 65, of Smiths Station, Al, passed away on November 19, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm on November 30, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Al 36867.
Charlene Senn Jones was born in Phenix City, Al on Christmas Day in 1958 to the late Charles and Martha Senn. Charlene was a Glenwood School class of 1977 alumni. Charlene became the co-owner and operator of Phenix & Serum Western Store, where she was passionate about helping others find the perfect western outfit or giving them a helping hand in horse ownership. Charlene married Ron Jones in May of 1981 and remained his faithful and loving wife even after his passing in March of 2023. She is now rejoined with her beloved Ron in heaven, just in time for her favorite holiday season. She spent over 25 years attending American Quarter Horse Association shows, supporting her daughter as well as bringing her business with her in the form of a tack trailer. She also participated in the horse shows and won a Congress Championship Bronze at the largest breed show in the world. After she became a grandmother, the highlight of her life was supporting her grandson Jones at his baseball, football, and golf events, where she rarely even missed a practice. Charlene was known for her love of animals (mostly chickens, turkeys, and guineas), Ron’s dog Stella, going fishing on the Hiwassee River, working in her yard/garden and family vacations. Christmas time was always a bright spot for her, because she loved going above and beyond blessing others. Two of her dogs that passed, Holly and Dottie, still held a special place in her heart. She was a selfless and compassionate woman who adored her family and would do anything she could to help someone else in need. Charlene will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Charlene Jones is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Ron” D. Jones; parents, Martha Lee Senn and Charles Luther Senn; and grandparents, Burt and Arminta Martin.
