Charles Franklin Bailey

Charles Franklin Bailey, 79, formerly of Phenix City, AL passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Jackson General Hospital in Jackson, TN.  A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Monday, January 13, 2020 beginning at 11 am with Pastor Ed Kvietkus officiating.  The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, January 13, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 10 am until 11 am, one hour prior to the service.

Charles was born on January 6, 1941 in Blakely, GA to the late Charles S. and Charity Alday Bailey.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later continued to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter in Ellerslie, GA.  After his years in the military, Charles became employed with Booth Plumbing where he retired after several years.  

Charles truly enjoyed being in the great outdoors where he spent countless hours fishing and hunting.  Watching NASCAR was also one of his favorite things to do.  Charles loved his family and his two dogs, Duke and Dutchess.  He will be missed very much by all whose lives he touched.

Other than his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wives, Janice McIntosh Bailey and Joyce Morris Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Gurley; brother, Jerry Bailey (Kathryn) of Columbus, GA; nephews, Jeff Bailey and Chase Bailey; nieces, Brooke Bailey and Millie Bailey; stepchildren, Debbie Talley and Renee Talley; numerous other nieces and nephews.
