Charles Mac “Buddy” Arrowsmith, Jr.

Charles “Buddy” Mac Arrowsmith, Jr., 80, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family while at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, December 28, 2023 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Pastor Jerry Sauls officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Mr. Arrowsmith was born March 11, 1943 in Biloxi, MS, son of the late Charles Mac Arrowsmith, Sr. and Margaret Vaughn Arrowsmith. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving his country faithfully. After his military career, he began his civilian career and eventually retired from Lummis Industries as an Accountant. He was a member of the University Avenue Assembly of God Church, Columbus, GA. Buddy was very active at the church, teaching the Senior Adult Sunday School, working in the Senior Adult Ministries, and ushering. He was also well known for his portrayal of Santa Claus. This brought him great joy to see the smiles light up on the children’s faces when he talked to them. We will always remember his loving and giving heart. He never seemed to grow tired of helping others with a most humble spirit.
Mr. Arrowsmith was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Mac Arrowsmith, Sr. and Margaret Arrowsmith; his wife, Glenda Norton Arrowsmith; a brother, Jack Arrowsmith and a granddaughter Ashley Arrowsmith.
Survivors include his three children, Darren Arrowsmith (Dana), Pine Mt., GA; Jennifer Oliver (Chris), Cataula, GA; and Patrick Arrowsmith (Rubylyn), Philippines; one sister, Beverly Rochelle; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
