Charles Ricke

Mr. Charles Ricke, 62, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.  An interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST, at the funeral home. 

Mr. Ricke was born in Cincinnati, OH on July 29, 1961, son of late John Ray Ricke and Mary Lou Handley Shirakawa.  He worked the majority of his career as a mechanic and was still employed with GFL Environmental as a Lead Mechanic and Shop Foreman.  Mr. Ricke was always busy with his hands, working on engines or wood working.  He will be missed by his family, coworkers and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Martha Ricke of Phenix City, AL; a son Allen Hunt and wife Annette of Phenix City, AL; a sister, Susan Groome and husband Steve of Bryon City, NC; a brother, Steve Ricke and wife Brenda of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, A. J. Hunt, Alexander Hunt and Dylan Hunt; several extended family and friends.
