Chong Nyon Choi Hogans, 80, of Phenix City, AL died at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. Hogans was born May 05, 1942 in Japan and raised in Busan, South Korea. There, she fell in love and married the late SFC (Ret) James Hogans, Sr. They served in numerous duty stations around the world before settling in the US near Ft. Benning with their three children. Mrs. Hogans was happiest when gardening, taking her morning walks, and spending time with family. She had a generous, compassionate heart, and a lively energy that drew people in. She was a friend to everyone and a steady rock in her family. She will be deeply missed, but will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Her legacy lives on through her three children, James Hogans, Jr. (Nicole), Angel Hogans-Degree (Jim), and Richard Hogans (Wendy); her five grandchildren, Dylan, Nicole, Richard “RJ”, Diamond, and Olivia; her two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Daniel; her niece, Elaine (Kevin); family friend, Tom Matthews; and several other family members and friends.
