Chris Purcel

Chris Purcell, 40, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday evening, November 12, 2014 in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 17, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Bill Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EDT at the funeral home. Chris was born July 19, 1974 in Phenix City, AL to Nathan and Alice Purcell. His passion was go-cart racing. For over 18 years he raced as “00” throughout the southeast and for most of that time enjoyed a partnership with Jimmy and Carston Thomas. Chris was a hard worker and enjoyed time with his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Nathan and Alice; 2 brothers, Hubert Purcell and his wife Susie and Michael Purcell; nieces and nephews, Robbie, Seth, Jacob, Brent and Shelby; 2 great nieces and 2 great-nephews; special friends, Karen, Hammer, Keith, Eric, Rob, Lee, Kenny and his swimming buddy Penelope.
