Christine McKinney Touchton, 92, of Phenix City, AL surrounded by her family went to meet Jesus, August 21, 2018.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am at Power of Praise Assembly of God, Friday, August 24, 2018 with Pastor Frances Corbin and Pastor Boyd Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6-8 at Vance Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Touchton was born September 15, 1925 in Ozark, AL to the late Walter L. and Jessie Mae McKinney. “Mama Teen” loved God, her family and people. She was a founding member of Rolph Survey Assembly of God which became Calvary Temple and Power of Praise. With her husband she housed and feed many young ministers and they traveled through. Her love for others and cooking led her to often preparing food for neighbors. She was the WM (Women’s Ministry) Leader for over 40 years and was teaching Sunday School for young Christians just a few years ago. She had worked at Swift Textile as a spinner for many years and loved gardening and canning fresh food.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Reason “Stoney” Touchton, 2 sons, Jerry Wallace “Canman” Touchton and Lewis David “LD” Touchston and 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Ruth Brewer and Betty Louise Turner, 5 grandkids and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and so many other friends and family members.
