Claude Delbert “Chuck” Clary, 81, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held 12:00 Noon EDT Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Phenix City with Father Jose` Paillacho officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Mr. Clary was born March 9, 1933 in Richland Center, WI to the late Joseph Daniel Clary and Iris Margaretta Jones Clary. He served our county faithfully with 20 A½ years of service in the United States Army. He then dedicated an additional 35 years of service to the Civil Service. He was a member of the VFW in Smiths Station, where he participated in the many volunteer programs for our Veterans; was a member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed wood working, tinkering with electronics and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Other than his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Clifton Clary, and three brothers, William Clary, Harvey Clary, and Ted Clary. He is survived by one daughter, Keitha White and husband Clay, two sons, Donnie Seats, and Bobby Clary, a very special dear friend and companion, Shirley Fortney, five sisters, Joanne Baker, Liz Radel and husband Marlyn, Rosie Miller, Candy Howell, and Emma Needham and husband Bob, two brothers, John Clary and wife Kris, and Alois Clary and wife Mary; one grandchild on the way, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Columbus Hospice House or the Wounded Warriors Foundation in memory of Mr. Chuck Clary.
