Claude Michaud, age 92, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, Georgia.
Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday, January 18, 2020, 3 p.m. with Reverend Mike Turner officiating.
Mr. Michaud, son of the late Leonard Richard Michaud and Irene Teresa Cyr Michaud, was born May 20, 1927 in Island Falls, Maine. As a young teenager, he served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his military service, he worked at a variety of jobs and later focused on a music career. During the late 1950’s, he was a guitarist and also sang for the Satellites, entertaining country music fans in the area. Years later in the 1980’s, he played and sang for the Sons of the American Buffalo.
Mr. Michaud lived his life “his own way,” and was many times a “jokester.” The family remembers him as a man who always had fun with his family.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Michaud; two sons, Claude Michaud, Jr. and Kenneth Allen Michaud; one brother, Leonard John Michaud and one sister, Jean Mazzoli .
He is survived by three daughters, Denise Marie “Dee Dee” Cornwell of Pompano Beach, Florida, Dawn Irene Maracle of Pflugerville, Texas, and Robin Lynn(Phillip) Shope of Jeffersonville, Indiana; four sons, Steven (Angelica) Michaud of Pompano Beach, Florida, Randy Michaud of Muenster, Texas, Darrell (Cyndee) Michaud of Key West, Florida; and John (Kim) Michaud of Smiths Station, Alabama; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
