Cleo Renfroe Wilson, 95, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully late Monday evening, July 3, 2017, at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EDT Friday, July 7, 2017, at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Dr. David Kees officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday morning at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson was born August 1, 1921, in Coffee County, AL to Arthur Renfroe and Gussie Grissett Renfroe. She was employed at Swift Textiles for many years until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed sewing for her daughters, fishing with her late husband, cooking, and quilting beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Wilson Jr., two sons, Ray Wilson, and Don Wilson, one sister, Odell Jackson, and three brothers, L. A. Renfroe, Dewey Renfroe, and Douglas Refroe.
She is survived by three daughters, Rossie Stewart of Smiths Station, AL, Anna Wilson Slaughter and husband, Neil, of Trussville, AL, and Debra Wilson Rouse and husband, Joey, of Fortson, GA; one son, Larry Wilson and wife, Tracy, of Auburn, AL; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Phenix City Health Care for their care of Mrs. Wilson for the past five years.
