Clifford Raymond Glines, 71, of Midland, GA passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at his residence in Midland. A graveside service will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Hwy 165, Fort Mitchell, AL on Monday, September 18, 2017 beginning at 1:00 P.M. EST with the Reverend Eric Hilyer officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. EST.
Mr. Glines was born June 9, 1946 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Clifford Glines and Gertrude Conger Glines. He was Baptist by faith. He retired from the United States Postal Service with over thirty years of service. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where upon he received a purple heart and other accommodations. He was a member of the VFW Post 665 on Victory Drive in Columbus.
Other than his parents, Mr. Glines is predeceased by a brother, Randall Glines.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ms. Maxine Glines; children: Barbara Glines Lewis and Jennifer R. Glines, both of Columbus, GA, Rachel Napier (Robert) of Phenix City, AL, Maurice Hammock (Kelly) and Bryan Hammock (Lynn), both Smiths Station, AL; two brothers: Richard Glines (Shirley) of Newark, DE and James D. Glines (Nancy) of Tuckerton, NJ; grandchildren: Cody, Matthew, Hunter, Caleb, Breanna, Will Maxie, Kayla, Lexie, Kyndal, Luke and Cody; and one great grandchild, Lyla Grace.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made as an honorarium to Columbus Hospice, 2020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
