Clyde “Shorty” Smith

Clyde “Shorty” Smith, 91, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont Regional, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Thursday, August 27, 2020 with his family by his side.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 till 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
“Shorty” was born July 02, 1929 in Slocomb, AL son of the late Jasper Smith and Ethel Skipper Smith. He was a U. S. Army veteran and had retired from Tom’s after 40 years of dedicated service as a mechanic. Shorty was the unofficial neighborhood watch person, making sure those around him were safe. He loved being with his family and friends more than anything. He was a simple man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. We will miss him, but he will forever be in our hearts.
Shorty was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wanda Mae Loveless Smith.
Survivors include his companion and friend, Judy Smith, Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren Kristy and Astian Smith; several other close friends also survive.
