Cody Oscar Bass

Cody Oscar Bass, 66, of Phenix City, AL died surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, December 09, 2023 while under the care of Gentiva Hospice.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM (EST) on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mr. Bass was born February 14, 1957 in Clio, AL son of the late James Bass and Jennie Little Bass. He worked for Bibb Mills for over 20 years as a Fixer until they closed. He then worked another 20 years with Cessna Aircraft until they shut down. Cody loved to hunt, fish and watch Alabama Football and NASCAR. In his younger days he enjoyed playing cards with his buddies every chance he got. We will remember him always calling and saying, “I am sorry for bothering you, but”, then he would announce the seasonal cartoons or movies playing at the time. His favorite movie, however, was The Christmas Story. He will also be remembered as punctual to a fault and never absent. In fact, he finished grades 1-12 and never missed a single day of school. The memories he has left will always be cherished in our hearts.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Leatherwood Bass, Phenix City, AL; two children, Misty Norris (Ronnie) and Christopher “Chris” Bass (Christy); one sister, Debbie Bush (Terry); four precious grandchildren, Conner, Gage, Dalton and Christopher; nieces, nephews and friends.
