Csm(Ret) Dewey Clyde Johnson

US Army Retired CSM Dewey Clyde Johnson, 78, of Seale, AL passed away at his home on Sunday, October 25, 2015. Family and friends will gather at Vance Memorial  Chapel  in Phenix City, AL at 12:pm EST and will proceed to Fort Mitchell National Cemetery where the service will begin at 1pm EST, with his grandson in law, Rev. Joey Knight officiating.

CSM (Ret) Johnson, a native of Wetumpka, AL was born October 21, 1937 to the late George Washington Johnson and Valtie Bam Duke Johnson. He was the 10th child born out of 11.

CSM (Ret) Johnson is preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Johnson.  He is survived by his bride of 57 years, Irmgard Johnson and a brother Mr. James “Jimmy” Strock Johnson. He is survived by six children, Deb Johnson Valentine of Seale, AL, Lynn Johnson Wilson (Tim) of Atlanta, GA,  Rick Johnson of Columbus, GA, Peg Johnson Watson (Rod) of Phenix City, AL, Mike Johnson of Seale, AL, Brian Johnson  (Tammy) of Seale, AL, Eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of loving and devoted friends.

CSM (Ret) Johnson served a distinguished 24 year career in the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam. The most important thing to him was his family. He loved nothing more than to sit and reminisce about them.  He lived a wonderful life and will be dearly missed.
