Dallas Eugene Walker

Dallas Eugene Walker, 80, of Columbus, GA, passed away Sunday, May 06, 2018.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 beginning at 11:00 A.M. EST with Bishop Wes Swanson officiating.  There will be a private committal service for the family, Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Gaskins Cemetery in Berrien County, GA.  The family will receive friends Friday, May 11, 2018 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Dallas E. Walker was born in Vincennes, IN to Dallas Lafayette Walker and Dorothy Jane Porter. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Pine Mt. Valley, GA. Dallas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years. He was also a dedicated employee of Georgia Power for sixteen years. Dallas enjoyed woodworking and being active outdoors golfing, fishing and riding his motorcycle.  He was a loving and devoted spouse, father, grandfather and friend.  He will forever be missed.

Dallas is preceded in death by his father, Dallas Lafayette Walker and step-brother, Jerry Pinkston.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years Emogene Walker; his mother, Dorothy Jane Porter; daughter, Saundra Barnes and husband Frank of Pine Mt., GA; three sons, Craig Eugene Walker and wife Karen of Columbus, GA, Dallas Edward Walker and wife Pam of Springdale, AR and Keith Virgil Walker of Atlanta, GA; sister, Jill Silnes and husband Tom of Greenwood, IN; three brothers, James R. Walker and spouse Tirey Counts of Houston, TX, Gary Pinkston of Vincennes, IN and Bruce Pinkston of Oregon; ten grandchildren, Robert Eugene Barnes, Kristy Renee Barnes, Leslie Nicole Nettles, David Craig Walker, Anne Marie Walker, Sara Chrisanthy Walker, Caitlin Elysa Walker, Peter Dallas Walker, Sheryl Norton, Brad Edward Walker and great grandchildren, Giovanni Charles Stacey and Evan Dallas Nettles
