Danny Carl Jones

Danny Carl Jones, 69, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Tuesday morning, July 19, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held 4:00 pm EDT Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Junior White officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the church on Saturday.  A private interment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Jones was born November 23, 1946 in Columbus, GA to the late Henry Thomas Jones and Annie Lee Simmons Jones.  He had worked with Excelis Contract Services at Fort Benning as an aircraft fuel support person.  He was very passionate about Alabama football, and enjoyed fishing, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elston Jones and David Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mildred C. Hightower Jones of Phenix City, AL, daughter, Dana Woodall and husband Mark of Phenix City, AL, son, Scott Jones and wife Heather of Midland, GA, one sister, Patricia Bankston and husband Lewis of Phenix City, AL, and a brother, Ronnie Jones and wife Beth of Perry, GA; (6) grandchildren, Kendall Cochran (Mark), Hunter Woodall, Tyler Jones, Hudson Jones, Blaine Jones, and McKenzie Astin; (2) precious great grandchildren, Alden Cochran, and Gunner Cochran, numerous extended family members, and many caring friends.
