Danny Eugene Singletary Sr.

PO1 (Ret.) Danny Eugene Singletary Sr., 60, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 3:00 P.M with Pastor Paul Parker officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Danny Eugene Singletary Sr. was born January 12, 1957 in Albany, GA to the late Eugene Singletary and Miriam  Melton Singletary. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years before retiring as Petty Officer 1st Class. While in the Navy, he served on submarines, was company commander in Orlando, FL and Naval Security in Yorktown, VA. Danny was also a Desert Storm Veteran. In his free time Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Lorraine Singletary; his four children Jessica Gouge (Johnny) of Waynesboro, PA, Chris Barkdull (Susan) of Columbus, GA, Curtis Barkdull (Sherii) of Lead, SD and Danny Singletary Jr. of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Wally Singletary of Banbridge, GA, Victor Davis of Columbus GA and Jeffrey Bowles of Phenix City, AL; as well as twelve grandchildren, Johnny Gouge II, Jacob Gouge, Justin Gouge, Paxton Barkdull, Destiny Barkdull, Ethan Barkdull, Brendan Barkdull, Lily Barkdull, Madison Barkdull, Keagan Barkdull, Cason Singletary and Brooklyn Cotton. Danny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be forever missed.
