David E. Clark, 78, of Smiths Station, AL died at Piedmont Columbus, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Saturday, January 30, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 05, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev Mike Turner officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mr. Clark was born March 01, 1942 in Phenix City, AL son of the late Olan Clark and Mary Adams Clark. He had retired from the Carpenters Local # 1723, Columbus, GA after several years as a Master Carpenter. Mr. Clark had followed in the footsteps of his father, who was also a carpenter. He was drafted during the Viet Nam War, but he was declined. He was told by the recruiter he could sign a waiver and still join, but he told the recruiter “I may be crazy, but not that crazy”. He will be remembered as a hard-working family man who lived a simple life.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Holliday Clark, Smiths Station, AL; two sons, David L. Clark, and Kevin O. Clark; a brother, Arthur Clark; other family members and friends also survive.
