David Daniel Smith, Sr.

David Daniel Smith, Sr., 64, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the comfort of home.

A Celebration of Life memorial service is to be held by his loving family on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm 1800 Lakewood Drive Apt. K-2 Phenix City, AL 36867  (706-304-0162)

David was born May 13, 1952 in Trieste, Italy to the late O Z Smith and Juanita Nell O’Neal Mote.  He had worked with several different companies in the area and worked also as a sheet metal fabricator for Riley Heating and Air.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was an avid Auburn Tiger fan.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Smith and a sister, Nena Akridge.

He is survived by his children, David Daniel Smith, Jr. and wife Brenda of Phenix City, AL, Stephanie Slaughter of Birmingham, AL, and Wesley Slaughter of Birmingham, AL, two sisters, Becky Dempsey and husband Eddie of Phenix City, AL, and Barbara Joann Scott of Kirvin, TX, one brother, T J Thompson, (3) grandchildren, Rebekah, Jaiden, and Kennedi, several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
