David Earl Smith

David Earl Smith, 67, of Smiths Station, AL died at Tallassee Community Hospital, Tallassee, AL on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
David was born July 19, 1953 in Ft. Bragg, NC son of the late Willard H. Smith and Clatie E. Smith. He was a jack of all trades, however he was an excellent painter. David enjoyed fishing and cooking. He had a servant’s heart often giving his last dime to someone in need. David would often share delicious meals he cooked with family and friends. He will be remembered as a generous man who always put family and friends above himself.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Arlene Clements of Phenix City, AL and Bobbie Suggs of Wilmington, NC and a brother-in-law, David Allen Powell of Smiths Station, AL.
Survivors include his brother, Willard Joe Smith (Catherine) of Smiths Station, AL; nephew, Phillip McConnell and niece, Jill Strickland both of Smiths Station, AL; other nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
