David Lee Grantham

David Grantham, age 73, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Piedmont Northside Regional, Columbus, Georgia. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday, May 1, 2021, 3 p.m. with Reverend Rodney Mitchell officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19, the family requests appropriate distancing and face masks.
Mr. Grantham, son of the late Oscar David Grantham and Annie Maudine Boutwell Grantham, was born December 17, 1947 in Enterprise, Alabama. He was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and former member of the East Alabama Amateur Radio Club. Mr. Grantham worked faithfully at AT&T (formerly Bellsouth) for over 38 years, retiring as a Field Supervisor. Mr. Grantham enjoyed hunting, fishing, and storm chasing. He devoted many hours in coaching and developing young boys in the Phenix City Little League baseball program, and also coached youth in the Columbus Youth Bowling League. Mr. Grantham also looked forward to bowling, collecting Native American artifacts, watching NASCAR and Alabama football, but most enjoyed spending quality time with his family. The family remembers him as a great husband, father, and a friend to all.
Mr. Grantham is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deidra Grantham of Phenix City; two sons, Bryan Grantham of Dallas, Georgia and Matt Grantham of Pelham, Alabama; two grandchildren, Jordan Lee and Peyton Grantham; nieces; nephews; cousins; and numerous friends.
