Mr. David Lewis Jones Jr.

Mr. David Lewis Jones, Jr., 55, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Jack Hughston Hospital in Phenix City, AL.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Don Abrams officiating.  There will be a private interment Friday at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones was born March 2, 1965 in Columbus, GA, son of Patricia Ruth Bell Jones and the late David Lewis Jones, Sr.  He always loved baseball and was an excellent first baseman during his youth.  Mr. Jones worked for United Cities Gas Company for many years and later obtained his BS in education and was a teacher in both the Muscogee County School System and Ft. Benning School System.  He also enjoyed fishing and horticulture.  Mr. Jones was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Other than his mother, he survived by a son, David Lewis “Tripp” Jones, III of Phenix City, AL; a sister, Kay Duncan and husband Garry of Salem, AL; extended family and  friends.
