Mr. David Preston “Dudley” Mobley, 81, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday June 20, 2024, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm EDT Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Randy Comer officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 pm EDT, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Mobley was born March 8, 1943 in Decatur, AL, son of the late David Mobley and Elsie Lee Walker Mobley. He worked in Maintenance at Mead Coated Board until he retired with over 30 years of service. Mr. Mobley was known for how good his yard looked and spent many hours ensuring that it was immaculate. He enjoyed Alabama football but his true passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Mobley was a member of River of Life Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Patricia Harvey.
Mr. Mobley is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Glenda Coker Mobley; a daughter, Robin Rasmus and husband Tony of Phenix City, AL; son, Mike Mobley and wife Wanda and son, Patrick Mobley, all of Phenix City, AL; a brother, Milton Mobley and wife Jo of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Michelle Mobley Edgar (Jake), Rachel Mobley Boleware (Chase), Cyle Rasmus (Abbie), Cory Rasmus (Jill), Casey Rasmus (Shae), Colby Rasmus (Megan) and J. R. Mobley; fifteen great-grandchildren; several other extended family and friends.
