David Vance Mitchell

David Vance Mitchell, 75, of Columbus, Ga, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, December 1, 2015, beginning at 2:00 PM EST with the Reverend Kevin Calhoun officiating.    The family will receive friends prior to the service, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA.  

David was born August 1, 1940 in Sylacauga, Alabama, to the late William Hollis Mitchell and the late Maureen Lucas Mitchell.  David was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.  He graduated from Auburn University and was a devoted Auburn football fan. 

Survivors include, his loving wife of 55 years, Camille C. Mitchell; 2 sons:  Vance Keith Mitchell (June) of Columbus, Ga and Joseph David Mitchell of Phenix City, Alabama; 1 brother, Donald Gary Mitchell (Eillene) of Roanoke, Alabama; and 1 step granddaughter:  Lauren Margaret McDonald. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wynnbrook Baptist Church building fund.
