Dawn Martin

Dawn Martin, age 57, resident of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.  The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 5-7 p.m.

Dawn, daughter of Terrye  Strickland Goggans and the late Clarence Goggans, was born July 26, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.  She was a homemaker.  Dawn enjoyed spending quality time with her family, particularly her children.  She enjoyed bonfires; admiring beautiful flowers, and watching hummingbirds.  Dawn looked forward to relaxing at Lake Pointe and watching the day and evening sunset go by.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and playing video games.  The family remembers her as a kind and loving person; one who always wanted to help others; a “big kid at heart;” most of all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, that could always charm even the hardest heart.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Jack Martin; brother, Robbie Goggans; and step-father, Vince Mount.

Dawn is survived by her wife, Tammy King of Smiths Station; her mother, Terrye Mount of Ferris, Texas; one son, Jack “Bubs” Martin and his wife Shirley of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter, Alicia Martin of Potts Camp, Mississippi; one step-daughter, Ravin Whooten of Holly Springs, Mississippi; two brothers, Mike Goggans and his wife Margie of Ferris, Texas and Chad Allen Goggans and his wife Christie of Oklahoma; one sister, Deanna Peters and her husband Dink of Lake Bardwell, Texas; three grandchildren, Krista March, Parker Brandon, and Austin Brandon; numerous adopted grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
