Mrs. Carroll was born March 12, 1953, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late James Charles Lee and Emily Ima Jean Worthington Lee. She retired from the Muscogee County School District in 2005 where she served as an assistant librarian at the Bradley Memorial Library. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and canning foods grown from her own garden. Mrs. Carroll loved God deeply. She loved people and enjoyed serving the Lord by serving others. She was happiest when ministering in Sunday school, children’s church, Vacation Bible School, and Fall Festival ministries. She was a loving wife, momma, and Maw Maw. She cherished the time she spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren – affectionately known as Her Hearts. Mrs. Carroll’s legacy is to remember that “We may not be rich, but we’re rich in love.” Love was truly the foundation of life for her.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a loving husband, William Earl Carroll; a grandchild, Finn Hudson Elliott; one sister, Wanda Sue Lee; and several brother and sister-in-laws.
She is survived by her loving children, a daughter, Lisa Elliott and husband Jacob of Columbus, GA; a son, Larry Carroll and wife Chelsey of Columbus, GA; sisters, Mary Nell Chauncey and husband Dewey of Gainesville, GA; and Ann Marie Lee of Columbus, GA; brother-in-laws, Mack Carroll of Columbus, GA; Sammy Carroll and wife Marsha of Pittsview, AL and Ralph Carroll and wife Carol Carroll of Fortson, GA; five grandchildren, Sarah Carroll, William James Carroll, Lola Carroll, Sawyer Elliott and Emilee Elliott.
