Debra Lee Bland

Debra Lee Jewell Bland, 59, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019, at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EST, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bland was born on April 8, 1960 in Phenix City, AL and raised by her parents Sidney R. Holman and Trixie Lee Holman.  She worked as a Training Coordinator for the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Department.  Mrs. Bland enjoyed crafts, making jelly and jams, as well as going to the beach and fishing.  Above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by an Aunt, Edna Faye Rigsby.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Larry Bland of Smiths Station, AL; one daughter Mandy Lake and husband Brandon of Auburn, AL; one son, Nicholas “Nick” Bland and wife Jessica of Salem, AL; a brother, Clarence Wright and wife Cindy of Crawford, AL; a sister, Maria Moore and husband Dave of Smiths Station, AL; five grandchildren, Aubrey Lake, Kaylee Lake, Jayden Lake, Harper Bland and Katherine Bland; best friend, Kayla Moore, as well as, her caring family of co-workers at the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Department.
