Delaine Britt, age 63, resident of Salem, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 11 a.m. with Minister Joseph Short officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. and also on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5-7 p.m.
Mrs. Britt, daughter of the late Monroe Morris and Mary Alice Barrentine Morris, was born October 2, 1957 in Columbus, Georgia. She was a homemaker and member of Philadelphia Church of God, Edmond, Oklahoma. Mrs. Britt enjoyed spending time with Arts and Crafts and loved to paint. She raised birds, had a “green thumb,” and would often make peanut butter balls for the family. Mrs. Britt also enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, and playing Pollyanna. The family remembers her as a Godly woman; obedient and discipline; and saw things to either be “black or white.”
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Morris, Travis Morris, and Jimmy Morris. She is survived by her husband, Harold Britt of Salem, Alabama; four daughters, Jennifer Crunkleton and her husband Rodney of Quinlan, Texas, Leslie Baker and her husband Jody of Midlothin, Texas, Laurie Adams and her husband Brandon of Salem, Alabama, and Kristen Smith and her husband Kyle of Phenix City, Alabama; three sisters, Helen Krug of Phenix City, Thelma Monczyn and her husband Joe of Crane Hill, Alabama, and Carol Martin of Phenix City; five brothers, M.J. Morris of Phenix City, Curtis Morris and his wife Peggy of Phenix City, Buddy Morris and his wife Catherine of Cottonton, Alabama, Herman Varnadore and his wife Jackie of Crawford, Alabama, and Earl Varnadore of Phenix City; five grandchildren, Neil Crunkleton, Tanner Baker, Cole Baker, Gage Adams, and Braden Adams; step-daughter, Carol Cobb and husband Richie of Phenix City; step-sons, David Britt of Smiths Station, Alabama and Steve Britt of Phenix City; step-grandson, Johnathon Cobb and wife Kristen of Phenix City; many other relatives and friends.
