“Del” Deering, 66, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A celebration of Del’s life will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2 until 4 at JB Phillips Hair & Nail Salon, 5592 Suite N, Whitesville Road, Columbus, GA.
Del was born January 3, 1950 to the late Felix Kenneth Deering and Hilda Grace Gentry in Buchanan, GA. He served in the Navy before settling into his career as a stylist at JB Phillips Hair & Nail Salon. He had an extraordinary work ethic and was devoted to his clients and co-workers who he considered his family. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Deloris Housend and his beloved cat Phenix.
He is survived by three sisters, Janice Brown and husband Brian, Peggy Davis and Linda Beard; several nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. A special thank you to Billy and Junita Guthrie for their love and devotion to Del.
We will always remember Del’s wonderful and contagious laugh.
