Diane Carol Free

Diane Carol Sanders Free, 54, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Adam Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Diane was born June 17, 1963 in Zaragoza, Spain to the late James Sanders and Carolyn King Haines.  She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother whom loved her family deeply.  She was a lady of great character and was a Christian by faith.

She is survived by her step-father, Charles Haines, Jr. who loved her and raised her as his own, she is also survived by her two children, James Darryl Free, Jr. and wife Michele, and Jamie Marie Hoyne and husband Samuel, one sister, Denise Sanders, three brothers, Ronnie Sanders, Randy Sanders, and Charles Haines, III and wife Michelle, five beautiful grandchildren, AJ, Noah, Willow, Brayden, and Brinkley, a host of other loving family members, and many caring friends.
