Dianne Hubbard Stokes, 58, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, while at Piedmont Regional Columbus Midtown.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am EST on Friday, December 17, 2021, in the chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL, with Rev. Derrick Millirons officiating. A private interment will be held by the family. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Dianne was born in Germany, the daughter of the late James Hubbard and Emma Brady Fowler. She lived in the Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama most of her adult life. She was retired from the Phenix City Board of Education as a Cafeteria Manager. She was currently employed as a Nutritionist for Phenix Regional Rehab facility. Dianne loved gardening, cross stitching and bird watching. Her favorite bird to watch was the Blue Birds. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother.
Dianne is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Douglas Stokes; two daughters Crystal McDonald and her husband Justin of Houghton, IA and Stephanie Stokes of Phenix City, AL; one son Stephen Stokes; eight sisters and two grandchildren Korbyn Hamilton and Caleb Stokes and numerous nieces, nephews and caring friends.
The family will accept flowers or contributions can be made in Dianne’s honor to either John B. Amos Cancer Center 1831 5th Ave. Columbus, GA 31904 or St. Jude’s Children Hospital 501-St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 31805 or Columbus Hospice House 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.
