Donald Paul Hunt, 70, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Midtown Medical Center on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2014 beginning at 10:00 A.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907, Interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery. Pastor Randy Colmer will be officiating. The family invites friends to the funeral home Friday evening for visitation. Donald Paul Hunt was born December 24, 1943, son of the late Durwood Franklin Hunt and Ina Cowart Hunt in Columbus, GA. Donald served our country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. After serving in the Army Donald began to build his own business, Hunt Painting Company he enjoyed his work and was dedicated to the community that he served. Donald was a member of River of Life Church in Phenix City, AL. In his spare time Donald loved to fish. Donald was married to the love of his life Brenda Posey Hunt for 51 wonderful years. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother and friend. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Wayne Hunt. Survivors include, his loving wife Brenda Hunt, of Columbus, GA; daughters, Kimberly Mason (Andy) of Phenix City, AL, Kay Carroll (Darren) of Snellville, GA, and honorary daughter, Tammy Posey, of Columbus, GA; sister, Dorothy Jean Strobel (George) of Charleston, S.C; brother, Ronald Franklin Hunt of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Klementovich, Cameron Carroll, Zachary Carroll, and Brayden Carroll; soon to be great grandchild, Logan Grace Klementovich; five nieces and five nephews. Donald also leaves behind his baby and best friend Katie, his loyal dog.
