Donna Francis Wetherby

Donna Francis Roberts Wetherby, 71, of Cottonton, AL passed away peacefully late Saturday night, December 10, 2016 at Phenix City Health Care.

Graveside memorial services will be held 2:30 pm EST Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the memorial service.

Mrs. Wetherby was born September 27, 1945 in South Carolina to the late Mr. and Mrs. Roberts.  She was retired from the Bibb Mill with 30 years of service.  In her past she also had worked with Delco Battery Company in Columbus, GA and was a license cosmetologist.  She had served as a Cub Scout leader, and enjoyed crocheting, watching movies, gardening, canning, and reading.  She was a Baptist by faith.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell G. Wetherby, and several step brothers and sisters.

She is survived by four sons, Michael Greer and wife Deborah of Seale, AL, Johnny Greer of Helena, AL, Richard Greer and wife Kelly of Clermont, GA, and Kenneth “Kenny” Greer of Cottonton, AL; (8) grandchildren, Eddie Greer, Michael Paul, James Greer, Sharon Greer (Chris), Johnny Greer, Jr., Lauren Stevens (Daniel), Jacob Greer, and Brandon Greer (Madison), (3) great grandchildren, Jacob Greer, Alyanna Thacker, and Natalie Stevens, a very dear friend, Diane Smith, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Phenix City health Care or Gentiva Hospice.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
