Donnie Clayton Barber

Mr. Donnie Clayton Barber, 68, of Waverly, AL died at Bethany House in Auburn, AL Saturday, May 18, 2019.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM EST on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Military Honors according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM EST at the funeral home in Phenix City. The family would like to invite anyone who would like to attend Mr. Barber’s services to meet at Vance Brooks Funeral Home Tuesday morning by 9:45 AM EST to leave in procession by 10:00 AM EST for Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

Mr. Barber was born February 12, 1951 in Marianna, FL to the late Samuel M. Barber and Mary Louise Faircloth Barber. He served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He had worked in sales with Thompson Supply Company in Opelika, AL.  Donnie enjoyed gardening, shopping at various thrift stores, enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time in his yard.  He was a Baptist by faith.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Barber, and several brothers, and sisters.

He is survived by three brothers, Charles Barber and wife Debbie, Samuel Lamar Barber and wife Alma, and Kenneth Earl Barber and wife Christie, and a host of nephews, and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. Donnie C. Barber.
