Doris Delene Deason Williams, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EDT on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel (Vance Brooks Funeral Home) in Phenix City with Pastor Robert Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive on Friday morning from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Dwight Graham, Jr., Ricky Deason, Ken Williams, Scott Waldrup, Mason Jeans, and Randy Yates.
Mrs. Williams was born July 26, 1931 in Sylacauga, AL to the late Jessie Deason and Clara Candance Harris Deason. She had worked with the Daily Home News Paper in Talladega, AL for many years. She loved the Alabama Crimson Tide, but her passion was the love for her family. She was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City. She was a lady of great character. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arnold Joseph Williams, son, Gary Williams, sisters Margaret Lightsey and Mary Howell, and a brother, James Deason.
Survivors include; two daughters, Sherry Yon and husband Larry of Acworth, GA and Shelia Suber and husband Mike of Phenix City, AL; sister Dorothy Graham (2) grandchildren, Mandy Kyser, husband Jeff, and Steven Yon, wife Brianna; five great grandchildren, Allie Kyser, Cooper Yon, Brileigh Yon, Mason Jeans and Bryson Jeans; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
