Dorothy Ann Melancon

Dorothy Ann Melancon, 69, of Ft. Mitchell, AL passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her home. 

 A Graveside Service will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery on Friday, January 29, 2016 beginning at 11:00 am. A procession will leave Vance Memorial Chapel at 10:30 on Friday. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 28, 2016  at Vance Memorial Chapel from 5 until 8pm.  

Dorothy was born August 28, 1946 in Memphis, TN to the late Otis and Mabel Key.  Mrs. Melancon was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed raising her family and, with her husband, created a very close and loving home.

Other than her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Geraldine Giovingo, and 2 brothers, Russell and Joseph Key. The family was also saddened by the passing of her brother, Jimmy Key just several hours after she died.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years Carroll J, Melancon; step father Aubrey Melancon; children, Carroll John Melancon and Maria, Lula Mae Pelfrey and Pat, Teri Mitchell and Rodney and Angela Marie Love and Anthony; siblings, Charlotte Gilliland and Terry P. Melancon; 13 grandchilden;3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
