Dorothy “Dot” J Peed

Dorothy “Dot” J. Peed, age 92, resident of Salem, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 20, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, March 24, 2023, 11 a.m. with Reverend Bud Passmore officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 10am till 11 am.
Mrs. Peed, daughter of the late Albert Johnson and Sallie F. Tyler Johnson, was born September 29, 1930 in Louisville, Alabama. She was retired from civil service at Fort Benning, Georgia where she worked as a Financial Analyst. Mrs. Peed was an active member of Concord Baptist Church. She was also a faithful member of the Neil Koon Sunday School and Young at Heart. Mrs. Peed enjoyed spending time a few years ago traveling with her husband in their RV, and later living in Florida. Besides traveling, she had a special place in her heart for her church and all its activities. While at home, she always enjoyed cooking , watching the news and game shows on her television, and spending time in her yard, maintaining the lawn through hard work and her landscaping talent. The family remembers her as a Christian lady who showed empathy to everyone; and one who was faithful to her church, family, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell C. Peed; a brother, Jack Johnson; and a sister, Jeanette Mason.
Mrs. Peed is survived by three daughters, Debbie Clark of Lanett, Alabama, Pam Sweat of Fortson, Georgia, and Pat Olson and her husband Dave of Sierra Vista, Arizona; one son, Randy Peed and his wife Angel of Phenix City; eight grandchildren, Wes, Mona, Stacy, Kris, Amber, Andie, Maddie, and Ashley; eighteen great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
