Dorothy “Dot” Thomas Oliver

Dorothy “Dot” Thomas Oliver, 81, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 18, 2022, at her residence, while surrounded by her loving family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM EST, on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL with Rev. M.R. Hamilton and Rev. Charles Keown officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM EST at Vance Brooks Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver was born in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Henry Thomas and Annie Ruth McLendon Allen. Miss Dot for years was involved with numerous children’s activities at Lakewood Baptist Church and The Phenix City Girls Club. Mrs. Oliver also served the children of Phenix City as a member of the Phenix City School Board. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, sewing, and gardening. In retirement, she enjoyed planning trips and social events for her chapter of the Red Hat Society. Throughout her adult life, Miss Dot always enjoyed being a member of the various choirs at Westside and Lakewood Baptist Church. She was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. Mrs. Oliver also enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Oliver is survived by her husband of 62 years, H.T. Oliver; daughters Robbin Brasfield (Charles) of Salem, AL and Jennifer Gardner (Paul) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; son Chris Oliver (Jennifer) of Cataula, GA; grandchildren Lyndsey Ritchie (Lee), Corey Brasfield (Amanda), Jonathan Hinckley, Drew Brasfield, Justin Brasfield, Caleb Gardner (Kaitlyn), Stephen Gardner, Luke Gardner, Aidan Gardner, Rachel Oliver, and Jordan Oliver; one great-grandchild Asher Gardner; many extended family, church members, and friends.
