Dorothy Boyett Dykes, 75, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Friday morning at the Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Monday, July 3, 2017, at Epworth UMC, with Rev. Grant Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm EST, at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City.
Mrs. Dykes was born on March 31, 1942, in Dothan, AL daughter of the late Charlie Boyett and Opal Woodham Boyett. She assisted her husband Bill in their business, Dykes Body Shop, for over forty years. Mrs. Dykes was a member of the Phenix City Jayceettes, United Methodist Women (UMW) and the Wesley Cornerstone Sunday School Class. She was an active member of Epworth United Methodist, in Phenix City.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Fred Boyett; son-in-laws, Ray Leatherwood and Robbie Tarleton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Dykes of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Tammy Leatherwood of Phenix City, AL; one granddaughter, Rebecca Tarleton of Phenix City, AL; many other extended family as well as, her church family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Epworth UMC Building Fund, P. O. Box 430, Phenix City, AL 36868.
