Dorothy Janet Bullard

Dorothy Janet Bullard, 102, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, January 25, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. (EST) with Reverend Jerry Speer officiating.  The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born on June 25, 1916 in Miami, FL to the late Berkley Dunkleberger.  She was a dedicated member of Northside Baptist Church where she taught the Dorothy Bullard class for 55 years.  Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress.  She enjoyed gardening but above all else, loved spending time with her family.  Dorothy will be greatly missed by all whose hearts she touched.

Other than her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, James Bullard; a son, Lawrence Bullard; grandsons, Keith Cox, Michael Morris, Charles Cox, Kenneth Bullard, Jr; granddaughter, Brenda Bullard.

Survivors include her daughters, Gwendolyn Jean Shirling of Valley, AL, Babsy “Joy” Hamilton of Baton Rouge, LA, Sharon “Cookie” Robertson of Columbus, GA; son, Kenneth Bullard of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Dewayne “Bo” Morris, Chris Hamilton, Kelli Bullard, Tammy Hughley, Karla Marie Childs (Will).
